Johnson Matthey’s SINOx® mixed oxide catalysts can be used alone or in combination with precious metal oxidation catalysts for more efficient and economical catalyst systems.
For certain applications, SINOx® mixed oxide catalysts are used for the partial oxidation, as well as for complete oxidation of VOCs, halogenated VOCs and for the reduction of odour. Utilization of mixed oxide catalysts in combination with precious metal catalysts enhances the efficiency and the economics of the catalyst system.
In general, mixed oxide base-metal catalysts can be more selective, but at the same time, are less active than precious metal catalysts. When used together, the advantages of both types of catalyst are incorporated into a single catalyst system, optimizing the VOC and odour abatement efficiency. Johnson Matthey´s mixed oxide catalysts are available as pellets or as honeycombs.
